Over the past two years, surfing has deeply transformed my life, bringing me new friendships, invaluable skills, a revived passion, and much-needed time in nature. It's taught me to embrace challenges, face my fears head-on, and keep my focus on my goals rather than the obstacles in my path. I've learned to let go of my ego, stop worrying about what others think, and simply have fun – leading to naturally better performance. Throughout this journey, I've realised the importance of being both considerate and assertive, taking up space in life unapologetically, and remembering that there's always more opportunities – just like there are always more waves in the ocean. Join me as I dive into these lessons and insights, hoping to inspire you to catch your own “waves” in life too. In this episode you will learn: What my commitment to surfing has brought me and taught me Why we all need to embrace sucking at something at first and face our fears head-on How to develop a healthier relationship with failure and an expanded perspective of self How you can truly align your thoughts with your actions when wanting to try something new The importance of recognising and celebrating growth, even when it's not immediately visible What will happen when you let go of your ego and stop worrying about others' opinions What it means to take up space unapologetically - Are you going to allow yourself to not be good at something in order to progress? I’d love to know what new hobby or passion you’re going to explore. Please feel free to get in touch with me via email at [email protected] or slide into my DM’s on Instagram.
