Episode 188 - Joy vs Pleasure

In this episode, we discuss the difference between short-term fun, which I call pleasure, and lasting fulfillment, which I call joy. Imagine hearing the old Christmas song “Joy to the world” sung as “fun to the world.” Doesn’t carry anywhere near the same impact or meaning. We instinctively know the difference between the long-term and the short-term, but it is easy to get confused or distracted. With so many things calling for attention and promising satisfaction, where do you get lost pursuing pleasure instead of lasting joy? I invite you to take stock of how you use your time and list a few things you intentionally do to serve that bring true and lasting joy.
