Holed up at church and hunted by Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is haunted by the mistakes and tragedy from her past.

Before, in small town America, following the death of her mother to illness, Karen’s life is going nowhere fast. As she tries to balance the expectations of her family with her alternative life with her boyfriend Todd (Will Stout) a day that should have been for celebration leads to a family argument that has a lasting legacy. Blaming Todd for his sister’s predicament, Kevin Page (Jack DiFalco), takes matters into his own hands as he torches his trailer in anger! In the resulting fight Karen shoots Todd to protect her brother and as they both make their escape Karen crashes the car leaving her brother dead and the family broken. In the aftermath, her father Paxton Page (Lee Tergesen) asks Karen to leave.

Now, back in Hell’s Kitchen the safety of her refuge is also about to be broken, as Special Agent Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) goes in for the Karen kill on the orders of Wilson Fisk. Meanwhile, Matt Murdock finally gets his shot at the Kingpin but chooses to save his friend Karen. Matt races to the church just in time to help Karen see-off Dex, but in the ensuing chaos and flying billy clubs Father Lantom (Peter McRobbie) puts himself in harm's way!
