Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is under house arrest. Two years after battling alongside Captain America in Civil War. Scott has a dream of Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) the wife of his former partner Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). He reaches out to Hank to tell him about the dream. Meanwhile Hank and his daughter Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) have been building a gateway to the Quantum Realm to retrieve Janet. They have been on the run from FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) because of Scott using the Ant-Man tech in the civil war. Working with underworld boss Sonny Birch (Walton Goggins) to get the parts they cross paths with Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), a young woman who believes her phasing in and out of reality can only be cured by dragging the quantum energy from Janet’s body. It's a race against time as Hank, Hope, Scott and his team race to reach Janet in the quantum realm before Sonny steals their mobile laboratory and Ghost (now teamed with another former partner of Hank, Dr. Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne)) kills Janet Van Dyne for their own purposes.
