Escaping from communist Macedonia with his family at the age of 4, and immigrating to Canada, Paulie Kazanofski knew deep inside that he was meant for something far more than staying in the poverty-stricken life he was born into. He decided to do this after visiting his aunt and uncle in the United States. In that moment, he realized he could have a life much different than what he was experiencing every day.
