Finally, he told us he had to go home to sleep it off!” says Mrs. Townsend. “I knew I should have served dinner earlier.”“What a performance!’ exclaims Thornhill.“Mrs. Townsend, does the name George Kaplan mean anything to you?” asks Captain Junket. “George Kaplan?” replies Mrs. Townsend. “No.” “I didn’t think so,” says Captain Junket.“Well, where’s her husband?” says Roger. “He’s the one you should be questioning!”“Is there any place he can be reached? asks Captain Junket.“Why, yes,” replies Mrs. Townsend. “The United Nations.”“United Na -?” says Roger. “He’s addressing the General Assembly this afternoon,” says Mrs. Townsend. Roger shrugs. “Alright, so he’s addressing the General Assembly,” he says. “Sorry we had to bother you,” says Captain Junket, turning to leave. “No bother at all,” replies Mrs. Townsend, smiling. The others leave. with only Thornhill and his mother remaining. “Now, wait a minute!” says Roger. His mother dismisses him, and leads him out of the library.
