Dr. Shanita Brown is a board certified licensed professional counselor, speaker, adjunct professor and trainer that fosters transformative and empowering dialogue about various forms of intimate partner violence, specifically the domestic violence experience of Black women. With over 15 years of experience in the clinical mental health field, she is a servant leader dedicated to break the silence and empower change, particularly within faith communities.Dr. Brown's extensive work in intimate partner violence includes service with the NC Domestic Violence Taskforce and Board of Directors for the NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She has traveled throughout the country providing educational workshops and presentations to diverse audiences including mental health professionals, advocates and leaders, faith communities and professional athletic organizations.
