The Lost Connection [02:13] “I teach women how to connect to their bodies in healing ways to feel more self-love.” “Our relationship to pleasure is distorted-there’s lots of stigma around it. We need to reclaim it, knowing that it is really beautiful and holy to connect to ourselves with our sacred,sexual energy.” Feeling Unsafe in Ourselves [05:06] “We’ve learned that our bodies aren’t safe, and we disconnect from them.” “We don’t feel whole within ourselves, so we constantly reach outside ourselves for validation and to feel complete.” Come Home to Yourself [08:39] “The process of self pleasure is a way to come home to ourselves.” “I had to break the idea that sexuality was bad and it was evil to feel pleasure. Unconsciously my body was tight, constricted, and bound up.” Creating a Safe Space to Feel Loved [13:50] “It’s a life long relationship- it can go slow, there may be hiccups. Have compassion for yourself.” “Say, ‘My body is safe, my body is beautiful, I love my body’ to create that safe relationship with yourself.” “Being present can feel very scary, especially when dissociating is something that you commonly do. This is a process-comfort won’t come overnight.” Stop the Suppression [19:52] “Our sexuality is so suppressed because as women, when we are connected to our body we are powerful and beautiful.” “Cultivating our feminie energy and our essence and our ability to receive is a practice that balances us. We can disconnect to connect.” “Create an environment around intimacy. Create an environment that is conducive for opening up.” Connect to Your Femininity [24:00] “Using music can act as a way to connect with your femininity and your partner.” “Progress isn’t always reflected in our external environment, especially at the beginning. “Exploring our anatomy can be so empowering because it can allow us to step out of that place of criticism and actually recognize that your body is divine.” “Having support to talk about pleasure ends the stigma.
