Being a mother may be the single most under-appreciated job in today’s world, but every day I have the gift of meeting phenomenal women who have found a way to do their life’s great work while simultaneously raising a family. Today’s guest, Carrie Cariello, is no exception. Carrie is an author, blogger, public speaker and mother of 5 children, one of whom was diagnosed with autism at a very young age. She shares her story of raising a family, and specifically her experiences with her son Jack, in her two books What Color is Monday?, Someone I’m with has Autism, on her personal blog and as a contributor on platforms such as Huffington Post and TODAY. Carrie’s work is incredibly moving and insightful, and regardless if you’re a mother or not, today’s episode will help you understand how to assume less, understand more, and bridge the gap between awareness and compassion with anyone you meet.
