Young people’s experience of court and pre-proceedings

Hannah Scott talks to Amy*, Kahlil and Imogen from the Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB) about their experiences of working with Childrens Services, the Family and Criminal courts. (*pseudonym used) The Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB) are a group of more than 70 children and young people aged between eight and 25 years old, who live across England and Wales. All members have either had direct experience of the family justice system or have an interest in children’s rights and the family courts. Their overall aim is to support the work of the Family Justice Board, which aims to deliver improvements to the family justice system so that it provides the best result for children who come into contact with it.
