RE-STAR: Being Heard in Research

This is the second of the RE-STAR research project episodes, taking a 'behind the scenes' look at the planning, considerations, challenges and applications of a large research project over 4 years.  Many young people with neuroatypicalities such as ADHD and ASD traits develop depression during adolescence – but we currently don’t know which individuals are at risk, what underlying processes increase that risk or, perhaps most importantly, the best way to intervene to increase resilience to reduce that risk. RE-STAR aims to address these gaps by testing the role of emotion regulation difficulties, commonly observed in young people with neuroatypicalities, in driving developmental pathways to depression.  In this episode we hear from the Y-Rappers or Youth Researcher Advisory Panel about how they are driving the research to ensure it is relevant to those it is researching.
