A ground employee at the Seattle airport stole an empty airplane, took off, flew it for an hour, and finally crash-landed on an island 40 miles away. He did not survive. During the flight, he communicated with air-traffic control, saying he was not expecting to land safely. His plane was pursued by military jets.
