Re-Thinking the American Beef Supply with Greg Putnam

Order of Man - Un podcast de Ryan Michler

If you’re like the other 95% of people on the planet, you eat too eat meat. But too little time is spent considering where one of the largest sources of meat comes from in America – Cattle. With broken food supply chains exposed during COVID, outsourced beef and processing to foreign countries, and the deceptive practices of those who label our beef products, it’s hard to know what you’re really getting. My guest today, former Navy SEAL, Greg Putnam, is doing something about it with a company he founded along with fellow Navy SEAL, Tim Sheehy called Little Belt Cattle Company. Greg and I discuss where our beef actually comes from, the balance between quality and quantity cattle ranchers have to find, the pros and cons of large industrial beef processing compared to the smaller, local ranches, what “grass-fed” and “organic” beef actually means, the importance of being connected with our food sources, and why we need to re-think the American beef supply.
