Steelers' Coaching Issues Compound w/Struggles of Kenny Pickett, Run Defense, in 30-6 Loss to Texans

Locked On Steelers – Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Steelers - Un podcast de Locked On Podcast Network, Christopher Carter

Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers' 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans had plenty of issues, and coaching mistakes were right at the top. Mike Tomlin mentioned at the beginning of the week the Steelers needed to plan better for their opponents, and that's the opposite of what happened Sunday. Kenny Pickett looked confused again in Matt Canada's schemes, and it continues to show that even when players are open, Pickett isn't clear on where to go with the ball, and that's on coaching to help him. Also, the defense struggled to stop the run again, and allowed C.J. Stroud to be comfortable in the pocket with an offensive line full of backups. What went wrong? Lack of preparation to stop the run and counter the Texans' efforts to neutralize T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith were key factors. Finally, Chris Carter questions certain personnel decisions by the Steelers, like where they are using Minkah Fitzpatrick, when they'll start Joey Porter Jr. and why Breiden Fehoko can't get a chance to help the defense line when they can't stop the run.
