How Steelers Design Kenny Pickett's Reads to Prioritize George Pickens/Diontae Johnson, Save Offense

Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers' bye week is over, it's time to help Kenny Pickett fix their offense. The top key is to simplify his reads to prioritize Diontae Johnson and George Pickens as primary threats, and not be predicable while doing so. It's much like how the Steelers got Ben Roethlisberger going with Antonio Brown in 2013, and how many offenses across the NFL get young quarterbacks their initial success by focusing on key playmakers. Offensive coordinator Matt Canada and head coach Mike Tomlin have compared the offense's chances to spark success to "a dam ready to break." The key to breaking that dam might just be Pickett focusing on Pickens and Johnson as primary reads instead of spending too much time scanning the field each play. Also, will T.J.
