The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates that it costs nearly a quarter of a million dollars to raise a child from birth to age 18.  That tally does not include the cost of a college education. The largest piece of that pie lies in housing and transportation at a whopping $107,000. Next, you’ll factor in childcare and education at $44,000. (See? I told you this shit is expensive). Following that is clothing/miscellaneous and healthcare at $33,000 and $20,000 respectively. Let’s get crazy and add the cost of college into that number.  Now we are easily pushing over $350,000 to raise one child. Having kids is not a business decision for most people but it comes with many of the same considerations. There are no “one size fits all”.
