đ For todayâs episode, Iâm honored to have talked with an absolute icon, a trailblazer, a great thinker: Dr amina wadud. She is considered one of the foremothers of Islamic Feminism. Dr. wadud, who specializes in Islam, gender and Qurâanic studies, taught at the Religious Studies Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. amina wadud has authored Qurâan and Woman, translated into over a dozen languages, as well as the book Inside the Gender Jihad: Womenâs Reform in Islam. In these paradigm-shifting books, amina wadud argues that, far from supporting male privilege, the Qur'an actually affirms the complete equality of the sexes. Her current research focuses on gender as a category of thought in Islamic intellectual history and development, with a particular focus on Islamic ethics and gender. She is convinced that in order to respect the universal value of the Qurâan, it must be interpreted from a female perspective. She names herself The Lady Imam. Sheâs single-handedly one of the most-known imams in the modern world!đ§Â Be it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts or else, donât forget to subscribe to @jins_podcast and to leave your questions in the comment section.#love #arab #muslim #islam #musulman #podcast #taboo #inclusion #social #gender #identity #racism #genderequality #body #religion #LGBT #humanrights #equality #intersectionality #season2 #jins #spiritual #s3xuality #theladyimam #aminawadud #women #quran #allah HĂ©bergĂ© par Acast.
