This month marks 5 years since I graduated from college and I have been reflecting on my 5 years as a grown up and wanted to share with you some skills I have learned that have come in handy. Adulting is hard, but developing these skills will make it a little easier. In this episode I discuss:  Basic home maintenance and improvement- I am not saying you need to be able to do a whole bathroom reno but you should learn the basics like plunging a toilet or being able to hang a picture straight. Cleaning- You can ruin so many things not knowing how to clean properly, so familiarize yourself with what cleaners are safe for what surfaces or how to get stains out of laundry or what dishes are dishwasher safe. Organization and time management- This is huge for adults. Get a planner to keep up with things, find a system that works for organizing your home and stay on top of stuff. Communication and critical thinking skills- Learn how to form your own opinions, find reliable sources of information and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Problem solving skills- A lot of adulting is just putting out little fires. Being able to read street signs if your lost, coming up with creative ways to keep your kids entertained, getting scrappy with money or being able to create  meal out of seemingly nothing. If you enjoyed this episode make sure to go back and listen to last weeks episode for part 1 of this mini-series. Good luck to all the new adults out there or the adults just struggling to figure it out, I hope this was helpful. FREE Goal Setting Guide Daily Planning Notepad
