The End of the Beginning: The Denial

Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church - Un podcast de Graham Chapel

Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. The End of the Beginning – 4 – The Denial You can’t talk about the Easter story and leave out the betrayal which we talked about last week. But you also can’t leave out the denial. As we talk about Peter denying Jesus today, it is perhaps one of the most disappointing stories in all of scripture. Peter is like the bi-polar disciple. One second, he is on fire, the next second, he is sticking his foot in his mouth not realizing what he got himself into. Peter’s testimony during the life of Christ is a story of ups and downs. Small wins and big failures! Scripture: Luke 22:54-65 Points: 1. Peter was the only one that followed! 2. Followers of Christ are Easy to Identify -Isaiah 53:2 3. Jesus Always Sees and Knows 4. We will Always Retreat when We Fail Christ 5. Our Greatest Failures Come when Christ Needs Us the Most Ending: The sad part is that Peter truly loved Jesus! Yes, he failed him, but he did truly love him. There are many of us this morning, including myself that have failed Jesus miserably in our lives. But you know in your heart that you truly love him. Don’t flee from Christ. Even in the midst of your deepest and darkest sins, we must run to him and not from him. He is the only one that can cleanse us and make us whole!
