In chapter 2 Paul talks about not relying on the wisdom of the world and instead relying on the wisdom of God. There was such a huge desire for education and intelligence among the people of Corinth that Paul wanted to make sure and keep the message of the Gospel pure and simple. The Holy Spirit should be the source of all the wisdom that a follower of Christ needs.
