How many teenagers do you know that react defensively to their parents? They're not being rude, they are protecting themselves. we start the pattern early when we tell kids if then when then. if you brush your teeth, then we'll have time for a story. when you finish your dinner we will go to the park. if you don't at least try one bite you can't have dessert.
