Before the madness kicks off, Dave spirals through Knicks playoff dreams, The Last of Us revenge fantasies, a heartfelt apology for pushing sketchy mushrooms, and the start of his “Summer of Fitness, Fashion & Wellness” (spoiler: it’s not going well). Then it’s full-on family dysfunction as Dave’s dad crashes the studio to complain about everything: the furniture, the lighting, the loss of his office, and of course, Dave’s entire childhood. Ray barely survives. Dave blames heroin. Allen kind of makes a point. Classic Dopey — a mess, a miracle, and somehow kind of sweet.
