Oklahoma beats Texas for a HUGE transfer portal commit | Can Texas A&M surprise in the fall?

Andy & Ari On3 - Un podcast de On3

The spring transfer portal window is closed, but there’s still drama. Oklahoma landed one of the most sought-after players in the spring window on Thursday when TCU transfer Damonic Williams committed. Williams started every game in his two seasons at TCU and was an honorable mention All-Big 12 player in 2023. Few defensive linemen with this resume had entered the portal this spring, and a lot of schools wanted Williams. It came down to Oklahoma and Texas. (0:00-9:09) Intro - Transfer Portal News (9:10-23:13) Pete Nakos Joins to Break down Transfer Portal (23:14-29:57) NCAA Antitrust Settlement Case, Future of CFB (29:58-32:56) Texas A&M Introduction (32:57-1:05:12) Billy Liucci from Tex Ags joins (1:05:13-1:06:47) Conclusion - Have a great weekend! On3’s Pete Nakos breaks down that decision as well as the ongoing recruitment of Michigan State transfer defensive lineman Simeon Barrow, who told Pete on Thursday that he might decide Friday from a group that includes LSU, Missouri and Miami. Plus, Oklahoma backup QB General Booty is the highest ranking player to ever enter the transfer portal. Next, Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com joins the show to talk about a quiet spring in College Station as new coach Mike Elko works to shape a roster that probably isn’t as loaded as we’d think given Texas A&M’s recruiting rankings of the past few years. In fact, the situation Elko finds himself in now is eerily reminiscent of the one Steve Sarkisian took over at Texas in 2021. But with QB Conner Weigman working his way back toward 100 percent, transfer Nic Scourton coming off the edge and an SEC schedule that isn’t as tough as the one some other teams got, the Aggies might be a surprise come fall.
