Focus on the climate

Amanpour - Un podcast de CNN

Leaders around the world are rolling back climate policies and pledges, purportedly to boost their economies. In Britain, the government has just approved a huge new oil and gas field in the North Sea, one week after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak slow-rolled carbon neutral targets. The International Energy Agency says that limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius would require no new drilling, while a new report by Oxford University finds that Britain's energy needs could be met entirely by wind and solar power by 2050. The deputy leader of the UK Green Party, Zack Polanski, joins the show to discuss climate politics, UK energy security, and future energy supply.  Also on today's show: Betsey Stevenson, professor of economics and public policy and former adviser to President Obama, discusses whether the green agenda in the US is at risk, as well as the future of electrical vehicles and auto makers.  To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices.
