A specialist in ancient and medieval history, Bettany is the author of five books: “Helen of Troy: Goddess, Princess, Whore”, “The Hemlock Cup, Socrates, Athens and the Search for the Good Life”, “Istanbul: A Tale of Three Cities”, “Venus & Aphrodite” and “The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”. Alongside writing, Bettany is an experienced broadcaster, having written and hosted more than 50 TV and radio documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Netflix, among others; more than 250m people worldwide have watched her programmes. She is the co-founder of SandStone Global, a TV, film and audio production company.
