In 2017 I read a book which really inspired me as I was leading on a project to transform the culture of an emergency contact centre. That book was written by today's guest, retired Captain L. David Marquet. It was called Turn the Ship Around! a true story of turning followers into leaders. Simon Sinek described David as the kind of leader who only comes around once in a generation. Student of leadership and organisational design, former nuclear submarine Commander, and named one of the Top 100 Leadership Speakers by Inc. Magazine. David is the Author of the Amazon #1 Best Seller: Turn the Ship Around!, and The Turn the Ship Around Workbook. David’s recently released book, Leadership is Language, is a Wall Street Journal Bestseller. David imagines a workplace where everyone engages and contributes their full intellectual capacity, a place where people are healthier and happier  because they have more control over their work–a place where everyone is a leader.
