Remus begins selling stolen cigarettes to older students in the early morning hours, justifying his black market operation as a way to finally afford gifts for his friends before their first Hogsmeade trip. His restlessness before the full moon leads to pranking Peter and a rare moment of openness with Sirius about his lycanthropy. After transforming in the Shrieking Shack with relatively minor injuries, Remus recovers in the hospital wing where his friends visit with homework and chocolate, while Peter unknowingly delivers payment from another customer for his cigarette business.
