According to the American Library Association, the number of individual books challenged in 2021 was 1,597, the highest number since they've been tracking it. In response to this increase in attempted censorship, the New York Public Library is launching an initiative called, "Books for All", which will make e-versions of books like Catcher in the Rye, Stacked, King and the Dragonflies, and Stamped, available to all. President of the NYPL Tony Marx and Lynn Lobash, the NYPL's Assistant Director of Reader Services, join us to discuss the issue of book banning today and the library's role in making sure information is accessible. Plus, we'll take your calls.
