'Nuclear Family' with Ry Russo-Young

“Nuclear Family,” a new docuseries on HBO, chronicles the story of a lesbian couple who created a family in the early 80’s through surrogacy before it was a common practice and the tensions and legal fights that emerged when one of the donors wanted custody. Ry Russo-Young was the child at the center of the fight and she also serves as the film’s director. She’ll be here to discuss her story, her complicated relationship with her family, and the production of the series.
