Once the tzaddik realizes that sorcery is at work, the pieces start fitting together. He intuits more elements of what is happening and reports to the king, who gives the tzaddik free reign to dispose of all the sorcerers in order to undo the dark magic. When the princess hears about this, she tries to cover the evidence, and this leads to the ultimate fixing and the end of the story.
