The Gainesville Ripper Danny Rolling's childhood was bleak, and horrific due to the treatment he received from his abusive father. As we see in this episode, he slowly begins to have a disregard for human life and a disrespect for women. In addition to armed burglary and countless rapes, he takes the lives of the Grissom family enjoying their weekend together, and some college students who have their whole lives ahead of them.
