On September 20, 1963, President Kennedy suggests for the second time that the United States and the Soviet Union attempt a joint moon landing. On November 1, 1963, Premier Khrushchev stated that the proposal would be given due consideration, and that it was a fine idea for an American and a Soviet to fly to the moon together.
