This is an important topic. Since the explosion in popularity of the true crime genre over the last decade, I've questioned the ethics of crime as entertainment. Many of us have become obsessed with grisley stories of murder. But have you ever actually talked to someone whose loved one was murdered? Would it change your opinion on the true crime entertainment genre? This episode is a conversation with author, award-winning blogger, and actress Amy B. Chesler. Amy's mother was murdered in 2007 and her book Working for Justice: One Family's Tale of Murder, Betrayal, and Healing is about the events before and after this tragic event. Amy surprised me with her take on the popularity of the true crime genre and it definitely affected how I consume these stories. FULL SHOW NOTES ARE HERE MENTIONED in this episode: Amy B.
